8/28/12 Phillies Game Thread

After a long delay revolving around textbooks and moving, I’ve finally returned to do more sports stuff. Tonight, the Phillies look to continue capitalizing on their current momentum, carrying a four-game win streak (with a SWEEP of the Nationals in the middle of it!) back into Citizens Bank Park for a three game series against the hated Mets.

The struggling Vance Worley goes tonight against the utterly lackluster Chris Young (who’s lost six of his last seven). I’m predicting an offensive blowout on both sides, to be perfectly honest. Worley is 6-9 with a 4.06 ERA, and is currently working through bone chips in his elbow. Six innings seems to be his limit if his last few starts were any indication. Young is 3-7 with a 4.33 ERA, with really nothing more to report beyond that. Come on, it’s the Mets.

With a win tonight, the Phillies will be three games up on New York in the NL East, and secure for third place in the division. Just keep on truckin’ and discuss…

  1. My computer’s stupid wireless router crapped out on me tonight, so I watched the game but couldn’t post anything as it was happening. SNY was showing the game, and I have to admit, the Mets TV crew impressed me.
